Bipartisan legislation to put $14 billion toward conserving wildlife in the U.S. faced questions from Democrats over its funding mechanism during a Senate hearing Wednesday. The “Recovering America’s Wildlife Act” would establish dedicated, annual funding of $1.4 billion over 10 years for states, tribes, and territories to work on conservation projects for speciesrecovery and wildlife habitat.
