The Environmental Protection Agency, Interior Department, and other land management agencies would receive $43.4 billion in regular fiscal 2022 appropriations under H.R. 4372.The discretionary funding total would be $7.3 billion more than the fiscal 2021 level, a 20% increase, according to the House Appropriations Committee’s report. The measure also wouldprovide $2.45 billion in reserve funds for fire suppression costs that exceed the regular appropriations.“The American people understand that confronting the climate crisis can be a pathway to creating good-paying jobs and inclusive economic growth,” Appropriations Chair Rosa DeLauro(D-Conn.) said in a news release announcing the bill.
