N.Y. Port Authority Adopts Greener Construction Measures (1)

The agency charged with protecting the nation's financial center from strong storms and rising sea levels said Tuesday it will seek to do so in a greener way. New measures from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey include specifications for lowcarbon concrete, reducing the required cement content in certain concrete mixes by 25%. Cement accounts for about 8% of global carbon emissions.
