The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency undercut a court-ordered ban on the weed killer dicamba, saying thatfarmers can still use products containing the controversial herbicide through the end of July.The federal agency criticized the June 3 appeals court ruling that canceled the registrations for three dicambabasedproducts sold by Bayer AG, BASF SE and Corteva Inc. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit hadconcluded that the EPA ignored risks associated with the chemical drifting onto other properties and violatedfederal regulations when it extended the registration for two years in October 2018.
