Johnson & Johnson must defend against thousands of lawsuits from women claiming the iconic Baby Powdercaused their ovarian cancers after a judge found portions of the science underlying their allegations was valid.U.S. District Judge Freda Wolfson on Monday limited what some of the women’s expert witnesses could say at trialabout the argument that asbestos in the company’s talc-based powders caused their cancers. But Wolfson didn’treject their testimony completely, which would have wiped out more than 16,000 lawsuits gathered before her forpre-trial information exchanges and test trials.
