摘要

Lack of financial support from EPA and international health agencies could force a North American environ-mental panel to drop a planned series of reports on children's environmental health indicators, which EPA and other sources had hoped could give key data on the effectiveness of public health policy. The first — and likely only — children's health report developed by the North American Commission for Environmental Cooperation (CEC) showed that only one of 13 indicators would allow adequate comparisons between the United States, Canada and Mexico, officials say. The report aimed to compare indicators in the three North American nations to improve understanding of how the environment affects children's health.
