EPA WILL DEVELOP GUIDE ON SCHOOL SITING AT WASTE SITES

Congress has included in the recently enacted energy law strengthened legislative language requiring EPA to develop guidelines for siting schools on contaminated sites, guidelines that supporters say are needed to help school officials who are increasingly being forced to site new schools on contaminated brownfields sites because uncontaminated land is reserved for residential developments, which raise tax revenue.
