摘要

EPA staff are suggesting that the latest scientific evidence justifies a new 1-hour limit on sulfur dioxide (SO2), which which would likely be dramatically more stringent than the current 24-hour and annual limits.rnLydia Wegman of the Office of Air Quality Planning & Standards told a July 21 meeting of the Children's Health Advisory panel that the staff reached the conclusions in the risk and exposure assessment (REA) and the integrated science assessment (ISA) documents which the agency released earlier this year in preparation for the ongoing review of the primary SO2 national ambient air quality standard (NAAQS), which will help determine if a revision to the current standard is justified.
