EPA is slated to issue draft or final risk assessments in 2010 for a number of high-profile chemicals under its IRIS process, which was reformed by Obama officials in May 2009 and now has a goal of completing each assessment in less than 2 years. A list of key assessments expected in draft or final versions in 2010 includes, but is not limited to, formaldehyde, perchloroethylene (perc), trichloroethylene (TCE), ethylene oxide, arsenic, dioxin, hydrogen cyanide, methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE), ethyl tertiary butyl ether (ETBE) and naphthalene.
