Inhofe Wants Boozman To Join Senate Environment Committee Next Year

James Inhofe (R-OK) says he wants Sen.-elect John Boozman (R-AR) to take one of two additional seats Republicans could gain on the Environment & Public Works Committee (EPW) next year, and Boozman's office says the lawmaker is interested in taking the position. During a Nov. 19 interview with Inside EPA, the senator said he wants Boozman to join the panel because he is "one of my best friends in the House" and said the Arkansas lawmaker has "a level of expertise" that would be an asset to EPW. Boozman's district in northwestern Arkansas borders Oklahoma, and he serves on the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee (T&I), which has jurisdiction over EPA water policy.
