摘要

A key multi-stakeholder group that assesses the adequacy of state oil and gas drilling rules is weighing whether to craft new guidelines for assessing state air quality requirements for hydraulic fracturing as part of its assessments, the latest in a series of pending efforts to address the air quality impacts of the controversial drilling technique. State officials recently told the Energy Department's (DOE) advisory panel on fracking that the multi-stakeholder State Review of Oil and Natural Gas Environmental Regulations (STRONGER) group is weighing whether to craft criteria to gauge the effectiveness of state air quality controls at fracking operations.
