Democratic lawmakers intend to reintroduce and broaden a bill in the 112th Congress which would require industry to fully disclose all the ingredients of household products such as cleaners, air fresheners, pesticides, epoxies, paints and stains, expanding the draft legislation to industrial cleaning agents and other products, proponents say. The Household Product Labeling Act as introduced in 2009 by Rep. Steve Israel (D-NY) and Sen. Al Franken (D-MN) would subject any household product that does not contain a label with a complete and accurate list of all ingredients to misbranding penalties under the Federal Hazardous Substances Act.'
