EPA Stormwater Survey Results May Support Strong Regulatory Provisions

Recently unveiled results of a 2010 EPA survey of municipal separate storm sewer system (MS4) permit holders show that many of the stormwater controls the agency is considering for its final rule are already being deployed by many permit holders, potentially giving EPA precedent for including similar provisions as national standards. Holly Galavotti, representing EPA's water permits office, presented the preliminary results of EPA's MS4 information collection request (ICR) July 19 during the Water Environment Federation's annual Stormwater Symposium.
