摘要

High-level Navy and Virginia officials are slated to meet later this week to discuss continuing differences over the state's push to require the Defense Department (DOD) and other federal facilities to meet more stringent water pollution limits for the Chesapeake Bay than local government agencies. The issue in Virginia has the potential to be a national issue for the military, one DOD source says, who fears a precedent would be set if federal facilities are held to a different standard than non-federal entities. Virginia Natural Resources Secretary Doug Domenech, a Virginia cabinet official, is slated to meet Feb.
