摘要

Epa has signed an agreement with the California Department of Toxic Substances Control (DTSC) to exchange data and help the state in its fledgling green chemistry program, which agency officials view as a potential model for national chemical policy reforms. Jim Jones, acting assistant administrator for the EPA Office of Chemical Safety & Pollution Prevention, joined DTSC Director Deborah Raphael, Region IX Administrator Jared Blumenfeld and EPA research chief Paul Anastas in signing the memorandum of understanding (MOU) Jan. 12. The agreement calls for the establishment of "relations between the two institutions regarding collaboration on their mutual goals on Green Chemistry," a move that officials in a Jan. 12 statement said should help to minimize duplication of effort by the two agencies and promote consistency in methodology.
