摘要

California regulators and science advisors are urging EPA to look to that state's Safer Consumer Products (SCP) program as a model when crafting a Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) rule for implementing revisions to the way the agency will prioritize existing chemicals for assessment. Two Californians who spoke at an Aug. 10 public hearing to provide comment on how EPA should craft the rule required by the TSCA reform law encouraged the agency to look beyond its own programs for examples on how to implement the directive and specifically pointed to the SCP program.
