In response to industry requests, EPA is extending the public comment period on a report that will form the basis for a landmark drinking water standard it is required to set to regulate perchlorate, the widespread rocket fuel ingredient, though the extension will force the agency to miss a looming deadline and seek additional time from the court that is overseeing the long-delayed rulemaking.
