Scientists peer reviewing EPA's latest version of a model intended to aid the agency in setting a national drinking water standard for the rocket fuel ingredient perchlorate appeared to deem it the best option among a handful of imperfect alternatives, even as some stakeholders suggested EPA return to an approach proposed years ago. The eight peer reviewers that considered the latest version of EPA's model and two separate approaches to its use to inform potential drinking water standards considered both options as viable ways to advance decisionmaking.
