摘要

Three dimensional numerical analysis of flow and thermal behaviours generated in a stirred vessel by anchors and gate agitators was performed. The study was carried out with both Newtonian and non-Newtonian fluids in the laminar mixing region. For this purpose a detailed computational fluid dynamic model of the flow and the heat transfer from the wall of the vessel is developed using control volu- mes method. Type of hydrodynamic and thermal patterns produced depends strongly on the geometric factors such as size and number of paddles and the clea- rance between the blade tip and vessel wall.
