Beach and garden developments

The $20 billion Al Raha Beach development is at present the largest infrastructure project in Abu Dhabi. Located on a 13km narrow coastal strip next to the existing freeway between Dubai and Abu Dhabi, and near Abu Dhabi International Airport, the development is designed to eventually house 120,000 permanent residents as well as a commercial centre and several hotels. It will feature a number of high-rise buildings including one in the shape of a huge disc standing on its side. This building will become the headquarters of Aldar Properties, one of the uae's largest property developers and the owner of the site.
