Australia lags in broadband

Australia lags behind most OECD countries when broad-rnband penetration, speed and price are compared. Althoughrnit scored highly in some areas, the country's overall posi-rntion was brought down by its high cost of broadband.rnA draft study published last month by the Berkman Center for Internet and Society at Harvard University in the US ranked Australia at 18th out of 30 countries based on weighted average aggregates of penetration, speed and price. Japan was judged to be best overall, followed by Sweden, Denmark, South Korea and Finland.
