The federal government-owned Australian Submarine Corporation (ASC) has indicated it is improving its maintenance of the Collins class submarines.rnThe corporation has been criticised for poor maintenance of the vessels and not meeting the requirements of the Defence Department.rn"Our staff have responded to the challenge and are now making great strides to address the government's needs" ASC managing director Graeme Bulmer said.rn"Under a shake-up commenced in May with the departure of the previous CEO, ASC has responded to the need to improve submarine availability and reduce the cost of maintenance," the corporation said.
