Miner investigated after deaths

A safety review of BHP Billiton's Pilbara iron ore operations has been completed and received by Western Australia's state mining engineer Martin Knee. BHP had to commission the report after several workers employed by contractors died on its sites.rnKnee has also authorised the governments mine inspectors to issue BHP with notices to stop work if they find any safety breaches. The report was prepared by Matthew Wylie and Bronwyn Brookman-Smith from GHD. According to Knee, the engineers carried out a study of BHP's safety management systems.
