An underground concrete structure once thought to be a "missile silo" by some Gold Coast residents has reached an important milestone - its giant lid has been fitted and the internal mechanical and electrical fit-out completed. The structure is known as SP68. Located in the suburb of Robina, it is the Gold Coast's largest and most advanced wastewater pumping station and is part of a $221 million wastewater network improvement program. The program is being delivered by the Beenleigh Merrimac Pimpama (BMP) Alliance, a private and public sector partnership involving Gold Coast Water and engineering services providers Tenix Alliance and GHD.
