Unified approach needed for water reform

Engineers Australia is disappointed with the progress of the National Water Initiative (NWI), which it believes has been slow, uneven and excessively geared to jurisdictional interests. The NWI is the national body tackling water reform across Australian states.rnIn its submission on the National Water Commission's 2009 biennial assessment of the National Water Initiative, Engineers Australia suggested an alternative approach where a common water planning model would be adopted. This model would include the best practices now in use by states and territories.
