Emissions scheme needs more work

Engineers Australia has welcomed the proposed National Carbon Offset Standard, but said the scheme needs a clearer distinction between emissions which are reduced in response to government policy and those which are part of additional voluntary efforts.rnIn its submission to the federal government, Engineers Australia recommended that the Carbon Pollusion Reduction Scheme should include a guide on how to calculate the two categories of emissions. This would encourage additional efforts to reduce greenhouse gases.
