Leighton Contractors will join Queensland Transport, SKM and Maunsell AECOM in an alliance to deliver the Eastern Busway - Buranda to Main Avenue project in Brisbane's south.rnThe project consists of a 1.05km two-way single carriageway busway which will connect the existing South East Busway at Buranda to Coorparoo through Stones Corner.rnConstruction of this section of the Eastern Busway is to start this year for completion by early 2012.rnNSW passenger rail company RailCorp has named the Novo Rail alliance as the preferred proponent for $1 billion worth of works over five years.rnThe alliance will work on projects which include junction remodelling, traction supply, upgrading the rail corridor between Lidcombe and Granville, and commissioning turnback tracks between Lidcombe and Homebush.
