Two grandstands in NSW have required urgent attention amid fears of failure of their support structures. At Sydney's AJC Randwick Racecourse, the Australian Turf Club (ATC) conducted urgent testing and rectification work on its Queen Elizabeth II Stand following the discovery of corrosion in structural steel cabling at the end of August. The problem was identified in an inspection by engineers as part of due diligence for the Royal Randwick redevelopment that is due to start in coming months.
