Australian inspiration fuels global innovation

The Australian mining and metals division of the global corporation Bechtel has won multiple awards in the company's internal innovation awards, recognising the leading practice solutions being adopted in Australia. Lee Barrett, manager of engineering for the mining and metals global business unit which is headquartered in Brisbane, said supporting innovation was the driving force behind Bechtel's annual global Engineering and Technology Leadership Conference Innovation Awards. The mining and metals division entered 14 submissions to the 2012 awards, highlighting the depth of development of new and innovative solutions to the problems the industry faces worldwide.
