First meeting of EA's Asian chapters

As globalisation allows Australian engineers to work in overseas locations, it is not surprising that Engineers Australia has four international chapters in the UK, Hong Kong, Singapore and Malaysia. Membership in some of these chapters is larger than some of the divisions based in Australia and is growing fast. Although the international chapters have existed for many years, they have operated autonomously with some financial support from Australia. Each has its own constitution in accordance with local laws. However, all this changed this year with the appointment of executive general manager Ben Leaver, who now has responsibility for operations in the international chapters, as well as the divisions in Australia.
