Neil Scales

Having spent a year as CEO of TransLink, a division of Queensland's Department of Transport and Main Roads responsible for the overall public transport system, in March Neil Scales became director-general of the entire department. The department's budget is nearly $9 billion, together with assets worth approximately $52.5 billion. This is the latest appointment in a career spanning over 40 years, including a stint as chief executive and director-general of Merseytravel, the transport authority for Merseyside in the north of England. Scales attributes his leadership abilities to his extensive experience in the transport industry.
