The used cooking oil is filtered then pre-heated in an insulated stainless steel pre-heat tank to a reaction temperature of 65℃.The heated oil is pumped into the first tank where methanol and a catalyst solution of potassium methylate are injected proportionately into the stream of hot oil. Reaction residence time is usually 30 minutes to 40 minutes before the oil is automatically pumped to the glycerol separation unit.
