The Victorian government has announced the approval of five new high density housing developments for a total of $557 million in central Melbourne. The largest of the developments is 127-141 A'Beckett Street, pictured, which will contain 632 apartments over 63 storeys. It includes one basement level, seven podium levels, 720m2 of retail space on the ground floor and will reach a height of 196m on a 1893m~2 site area. Sustainability features in the development include a rainwater harvesting system that is designed to save 88kL of water per year.
