"When I look at the distinct characteristics of the successes I have had throughout my career, a key feature is that I have become less afraid to ask for help when I needed it. You don't have to do it all alone. If you're not so good at something, find somebody who is and ask for help." This advice from 2014 Professional Engineer of the Year Robert Care summarises the key message from an engineer whose career has spanned continents and four decades. Most recently, Care ran Arup's operations in Australasia for seven years and across the UK, Middle East and Africa for three years. He also worked with disaster recovery organisation RedR, joining its board in 2004, and became a Member of the Order of Australia in 2012.
