Nationally accepted licensing examinations may become a reality for contractors soon and limit the need to take tests repeatedly in different states. The National Association of State Contractors Licensing Agencies plans to begin accepting and evaluating applications from testing vendors in the first half of next year. By midyear, NASCLA plans to begin keeping a registry of contractors who pass any of the nationally acceptable licensing exams.
