A tiny equipment design firm is playing a small part in a $136-million experiment to unlock the mysteries of the universe. Scientists at Batavia, III.-based Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory are hoping a 4,000-ft-long tunnel used to channel a stream of injector-fired subatomic particles, or neutrinos, will help lead them to a better understanding of the universe's composition. Tunnel contractor S.A. Healy Co., Lombard, III., won the project's $32-million tunnel contract.
