World's Largest Projects and Programs

The following list identifies the world's largest projects and programs that are under way, either in design or construction. It does not contain large-scale housing developments or common multi-year infrastructure (highway, water and wastewater) spending programs by national, state, provincial or regional governments. Given the size and scope of these huge efforts, almost all could justifiably be designated as construction programs.
