Building a Village for Learning

McAllister Academic Village on Arizona State University's Tempe campus is an unusually creative solution to providing first year students with a 24/7 superior learning and living experience that encourages them to finish their education. General contractor CORE Construction began work on the $90-million, 585,600 sq ft project in February 2005. The first phase includes four new four-story buildings and one seven-story building to house 928 beds and will open in the fall of 2006. The second phase consisting of two seven-story buildings and a food court area to service the entire facility is scheduled for completion in July 2007. The total bed capacity will be 1,928 beds.
