The market was booming in 2005 for large construction companies working abroad, according to ENR's Top 225 International Contractors survey. Revenue from outside their home countries rose 13.1% in 2005, to $189.41 billion from $167.49 billion. Regionally, Latin America was the biggest winner, up 44.1%. Others include: Central and Southern Africa (up 27.8%); Canada (up 27.1%); Europe (up 13.8%); Asia (up 10.9%); the Middle East (up 10.8%); and the U.S. (up 9.6%). Only the Caribbean (down 14.5%) and North Africa (down 16.3%) declined in revenue.
