Louisiana Wants Feds To Pay For Repairs

The Louisiana Dept. of Transportation and Development hopes to present findings to the Federal Highway Administration by July that support its assertion that hundreds of miles of roadbeds were weakened by prolonged flooding in the New Orleans area. The findings are critical if the state is to claim 100% reimbursement for repairs promised by Congress in the aftermath of Hurricanes Kat-rina and Rita last fall.
