Improving Work-Zone Safety Is Everyone's Job

There are plenty of organizations that have a day or week or month earmarked to call public attention to their particular causes. Some are meaningful, others are frivolous. Sometimes, the meaningful ones are lost in the clutter. So it is with the National Work Zone Awareness Week, held April 2-6. A flutter of radio ads marked the event, but there did not seem to be enough traction to cause any meaningful public interest or response (see p. 15).
