Testing of Pipe Bursts Helps Solve Sewage Piping Challenge

The Problem: When Tropical Storm Fay dumped over 14 in. of rain into the sewage pump station basins near Tallahassee, Fla., this 100-year-storm event contributed to three breaks in a two-mile section of the Capital Circle Force Main. This section, constructed of 36-in.-dia. Hobas pipe, lies beneath one of the most heavily trafficked roadways within Tallahassee.
