Port Grows Green in California

The Port of Long Beach (Port), in Long Beach, Calif., is currently in the second year of its $1.2-billion Middle Harbor Redevelopment Program (Program). The 10-year Program, consisting of 17 separate construction projects, will modernize Piers D, E and F into one efficient and automated terminal, will provide deep-water berths for bigger, greener ships and will more than double the previous cargo handling capacity.
