Region Adds Summer Enrichment

With 179 mentors and support from a number of sponsor organizations, the ACE Chicago Affiliate hosts 200 students from 34 citywide high schools (primarily Chicago Public Schools) annually and awarded $103,000 in scholarships in 2011-2012. Pat O'Connell, executive director for the ACE Chicago Affiliate, says, "Ninety-three percent of our students are minorities and an equal number are from moderate to low-income families as measured by their school's participation in the Title I Free/Reduced Lunch program.
