BIM Platform Increases Quality And Efficiency Of Reclamation Facility Expansion

The $226-million Pima County Tres Rios Wastewater Reclamation Facility Upgrade and Expansion project in Tucson, Ariz., is a major renovation to expand the plant capacity from 37.5 MGD to 50 MGD, as well as the replacement and upgrade of an outdated wastewater stripping plant with a state-of-the-art wastewater reclamation plant. MWH Constructors, the construction manager-at-risk, implemented BIM tools and techniques to drive quality and efficiency on more than $45 million in self-perform work that ranges from equipment procurement and installation to commissioning and startup of systems in 22 new and existing facilities, and 10 miles of underground pipeline.
