Heede Southeast supplied a total of five Linden Comansa tower cranes for the new Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas. The project is a joint venture between Balfour Beatty Construction, Austin Commercial, H.J. Russell & Company and Azteca Enterprises (BARA). The 2-million-sq-ft hospital will replace the existing 55-year-old Parkland Hospital. It is a $i.27-billion project. Heede had four 21 LC 550s and one 21 LC 400 on the project. Three of the 550s were tied in and top-climbed with hook heights of 353 ft, 389 ft and 353 ft. All erecting, servicing, top climbing and dismantling were done by Heede ironworkers and factory-trained technicians. The three 21 LC 550s on the high-rise portion of the project were chosen for their high capacities due to the large tables that the concrete subcontractor used for each floor.
