The challenges faced in the power industry are similar to that of the 2007-2008 market. As 2007 approached, the demand for shop space appeared that it would exceed the U.S. capacity. Owners whose capital projects were successfully completed had been aggressive in securing shop space to meet their "first to market" schedules. Today, projects in the process, power and refining sectors that will drive the capital project outlook for pipe fabrication in 2014-2017 appear to exceed the demand seen in the 2007-2010 timeframe.
