Prior to the recession, the use of high-strength post tensioning was growing at a rate of 12% per year. As the industry rebounds, this growth is expected to continue. This trend has led the industry to adopt more stringent codes and specifications, demanding that ironworkers installing these systems be properly certified to do the work. Most recently, ANSI A10.9-2013 states employees involved in reinforcing bar and post-tensioning operations shall be certified by a qualified evaluator.
