The total dollar value of new construction starts in Colorado in March was 8.7% above March 2020's level, according to Dodge Data & Analytics. The residential sector increased 21.7%, while non-residential declined 13.3% from the same time last year. Non-building construction rose 0.5% in the same period. The price for aluminum sheet rose 2.9% in June after increasing O.8% in May, according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics' producer price index. The annual index sits at 33.1%, up from last month's 27.8%. ENR's 20-city average monthly price for aluminum sheet increased 1.7%, with yearly prices 10.9% above August 2020's level. The average price for standard structural shapes increased 28.4% from August 2020's prices, while monthly prices increased 1.9%. Both types of stainless-steel plate experienced yearly increases, as did all types of stainless steel sheet.
