Nashville Federal Courthouse Is the Largest Photocatalytic Concrete Structure in the United States

The Fred D. Thompson U.S. Courthouse and Federal Building is currently under construction in Nashville, Tenn. The lead designer is joint-venture Michael Graves + Thomas Miller Partners. In January of 2018, the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) awarded a Bridging Design-Build contract to Hensel Phelps Construction Co. with Fentress Architects as the design-build architect of record. In September 2018, Hensel Phelps broke ground on this $128-million U.S. District Court and Federal Office building project. By November 2019, the final steel beam was placed in a topping-out ceremony, and work on a particularly innovative precast concrete enclosure ensued.
